Count In Full Color is a photographic board book that turns the numbers one through ten into a bright visual discovery using only fruits and vegetables. Each spread pairs a number with carefully arranged photographs and a simple prompt inviting little readers to count, point, compare, and notice.
As the pages turn, the photographs become increasingly colorful. The simple format gives babies, toddlers, and preschoolers room to explore at their own pace while encouraging number recognition, observation, vocabulary, and conversation.
With sturdy board pages and rounded corners, Count In Full Color is designed for little hands and repeated reading.

Artist’s Statement
For more than 13 years, I have used food as a visual language. Through photography, I have explored color, pattern, repetition, shape, texture, and the unexpected beauty of ordinary ingredients. My work has taken many forms over that time, but my curiosity and close observation have always been at its center.
Count In Full Color and Find In Full Color bring those years of work together in a new way. Count In Full Color uses colorful arrangements of fruits and vegetables to introduce numbers one through ten. Find In Full Color invites children to search, compare, notice patterns, explore language, and interpret photographs through both direct and open-ended questions. Each book encourages children to slow down, look closely, and discover details for themselves.
This project is also deeply personal. When I was a toddler, I ended up in the hospital with severe asthma. For about a year afterward, I needed nightly oxygen through a mask that covered my nose and mouth. To help me stay calm and focused, I was told to point to colors in books. The idea that images can create connection, comfort, and concentration has stayed with me throughout my life.
After years of seeing my photographs used without my permission, I began to question whether I was finished making art. At times, even looking at my own work was painful. But the answer had been in front of me all along: for more than a decade, I had dreamed of creating children’s books from my photography.
As I began making these books, I saw my archive differently. Images created across many years and different periods of my life began to feel as though they had been waiting for this purpose. These books are not a departure from my previous work, they are its continuation and culmination.
I believe these books may be the most meaningful things I have ever created. They represent the many ways I see food and are an opportunity to share that with children. They feel like the reason I made everything that came before them, and like what I was meant to make next.
